Lifted in Prayer

We just finished a special time of prayer for Azamino Chapel and the surrounding neighborhood. (In lieu of a prayer "walk," we stayed indoors due to the extreme heat.) It was wonderful to pray side-by-side with Japanese believers dedicated to Azamino Chapel's growth and health. Thank you for lifting God's ministry in Japan up in prayer!

Updates & Praise:

• The Lighthouse short-term missions team arrives next week! We're excited to serve with them very soon!

• Jeff and Malia have recently been able to meet one-on-one with some Japanese friends, both believers and seekers. We thank God for these opportunities to get to know them better and to share our lives with them!

• Jeff's men's group has recently increased their meeting frequency from once a month to every 2 weeks, and has begun studying a book of the Bible.

• Mason and Kaili started summer break this week. Praise God we've already been able to have some of their friends over!

• Jeff and Malia continue in their language studies. There was a question if the Advanced class Jeff wanted to take would be cancelled or not if no one else registered for it. God answered this prayer request, and with 2 others signed up, the class began earlier this month!

Prayer:

• Please pray for upcoming ministry events:

  • Azamino Chapel Children's Event (with Lighthouse team) next Saturday 7/27

  • Summer VBS/English Camp at Saiwaicho in Ibaraki (with Lighthouse team) - 7/29 through 8/2

• Please pray for final preparations for Lighthouse's short-term missions team that arrives next week, where we will serve with them in Azamino and Ibaraki. While we know it's not just about numbers, please also pray for more kids to sign up for these events so that more lives can be touched by the Gospel. Please pray for receptive hearts and good soil!

• One of the major points of prayer at our recent prayer gathering was the future location of Azamino Chapel, as the space we are currently using will no longer be available from September onward. Please pray for God's wisdom and direction for a new location for worship service and ministry!

• We will be returning to the States for our first home assignment January to March 2025. We'll spend most of our time in Washington, but will also visit Oregon, California, Hawaii, and possibly Colorado. Please be in prayer for the preparations, including a place to stay.
