Pray for Japan - Day 5 Financial Support

Since we were first appointed as missionaries to Japan, we have struggled with the topic of money and financial support. We are both trained as health care professionals and worked hard for careers that provide a sense of financial security. However, God has been teaching us through support raising that He has always been in control of our finances, and we never have. So here we are, stepping out in faith with full dependency on God and our supporters to provide for our family and ministry. We must admit that fear and pride easily get in the way of this process but today we humbly ask you to pray for our finances. We need individuals, families and churches to step out with us in faith and commit to supporting us long-term to cover our monthly budget at 100% before we can buy plane tickets.

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?" (Romans 10:14-15)

"Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God." (Phil 4:17-18)

Jeff and I may "seek the gift" a little and less humbly than Paul did with the Philippians but please pray today for God's provision over our finances. Pray that God would demonstrate his love and power as He guides us to finding the financial support and partners He has already set aside for us. Pray that our faith will grow as we take each step toward Japan. Pray that our supporters will be blessed abundantly as they respond to God's call into partnership with us.
